I'm pleased to announce the unveiling of the new, redesigned HEN website! Boysie's started by giving it a visual overhaul, and over the next while we're going to work on making it the best Irish Home Education website in the world! ... Other than this one, that is.

Well as you all know the next conference is coming up very soon. Time for more poison ivy and other lovely games hehe. Anyway Vivian has asked me to organize some of us CluckCluckers to be at the front desk on the first day just to help people sign in show them around and so on. So I am looking for some volunteers infact the more the merrier so anyone who would like to help out could they please let me know. Thanks guys and dont worry it wont take up all the day there will be plenty of time for other stuff. I will be there to show anyone around in order that they are able to show others around. But thanks to the mini conference I souldnt have to do too much of that lol. So anyway way let me know if u wanna help out. My email is

Achtung!
As you may have noticed from the main page, "The Dead Line" has past. However, with CluckCluck having just fallen to 235 in the Wetpaint 500, I for one certainly ain't going to be banning anyone, considering I know who most of you are anyway. However, that will probably change after the LC/MCS/RUE (That'd be Leaving Cert, ModernChild Sacrifice, and Ridiculously Unnecessary Examination) is over, where all CluckCluck will be returning to business as usual.
You have been warned.

(Oh, one interesting point. While the Wetpaint 500 only counts week-to-week progress, Google searches track total progress, i.e the number of times the site's been clicked on. So I'm proud to announce that we've finally overtaken "Washington Grown Chicken" as the most popular holder of the name "CluckCluck!"

Hi everyone. Great news. We now have broadband, well sort of . We have wireless 3G broadband. Not as fast as I would like but still way better than our horrible dial up. So now you should be seeing a whole lot more of the McClintock family online now. I shall be able to run cluckcluck with Ben a whole lot more, I would also like to give mecongratulations to Esme, as the news member of the cluckcluck masters. I think she will be great!!!! Ok thats all have a good year everyone.

Happy New Year, everyone!
I'm still on holidays, but I thought this would be an appropriate day to take a break from the break to announce our new moderator!

As the year draws to a close, Christmas comes, I take my holiday, and our new moderator is selected, let us pause to GLOAT OVER OUR RIDICULOUSLY HIGH WETPAINT RANKING!!!
I was just looking at the "CluckCluck Weekly Digest" that the admins get (actually I think everyone gets it), and I noticed that the old ranking system had been replaced with the "Wetpaint 500." We were ranked 175 on this scale. At first I was aghast, thinking it was points out of 500 or what 500th of the total Wetpaint sites you were in. However, a swift Google search revealed that it's just the same as it ever was, but only the top 500 get any ranking at all. So we're 175th! YEEEEEEEEHAHAHAHAHA! CluckCluck hasn't been ruined under my stewardship, far from it in fact! We're in the Wetpaint 500, nay, the Wetpaint 200! Thank you all!
Now if we pile on the posting we might even get into the top 100! So if you have anything at all, post post post!
Anyway, a very merry Christmas to you all!

Well, we haven't had an update in awhile, so today I'm proud to announce the creation of the "Mole in the Hole Productions" page, where the Conroy household (and others) will be bringing you films, films, and more films. (We also have a few recordings of the Mole, Snail, and our new songs, they're pretty bad quality but they'll be up soon if you want to have a listen). Just go to photos and videos, click on videos, and then click on "Mole in the Hole Productions."

Today marks the day that I am beginning the "CluckCluck Year 2" programme. It will be cool, it will be revolutionary, and you can see it all unfold on CluckCluck's forum. More updates as I think of them hoho.

That venture I was telling you about. Here it is. There's a program going around schools now called the Nationwide Children's Ballot, or Big Ballot, and I thought it might be good to get homeschoolers involved, so after a bit of talking to the very helpful staff of the Ombudsman for Children's office, here's what I got:
"The Big Ballot is a really exciting project the Ombudsman for Children's Office (OCO) is undertaking. The OCO is asking children and young people up to 18 to tell them about the issues that are important to them, and will commit to working on these over the next few years. These issues were identified through academic research and then by asking 150 young people for their views. In September and October, children and young people in more than 1,000 schools and education centres will learn about the issues through a set of lessons developed for the Big Ballot by experienced teachers. The OCO would be delighted if homeschooled children and young people also got involved in this unique project. All lesson materials can be downloaded at www.oco.ie. At the beginning of November, participating children and young people will vote for the issue they think is most important, and will need to make postal returns of the results on the returns sheet, also available on the website by 14th November. In the case of homeschooled young people, parents or tutors will need to sign the form in the 'School Stamp' box."
Now, to be honest I don't think all that much of the returns sheet itself, but if anyone wants to have a look at this, feel free.

First of all, thank you all for your excellent contributions to CluckCluck, and the forum in particular. It has certainly moved on from a project to a phenomenon at this point, and that's thanks to every member who's ever posted (and of course the other moderators, let's give them a round of applause... and... maybe me as well hoho). This is entirely unconnected, but Live Earth is on Today! There is some excellent music there, and anything that raises awareness of Climate Change is great in my opinion. To the Greater Membership!
I'm going to be leaving for these two weeks running up to the HEN conference, so my involvement in the planning of the CluckCluck talk will have to be done through phone contact with Andrew.
Anyway, I have a few notices.
1. Welcome to our forum Admin Team Jon! I'm sure you'll make as good an Admin as you've been a member.
2. I'm very proud to announce that CluckCluck is now 172nd out of 426,282 Wetpaint sites. This means that we're in the top 0.05% of Wetpaint websites!
Well, I won't be here until the 29th of July, but I hope to see some of you at the HEN conference.

Please try and get the details to us as soon as you can. If you could get them to us within a month, that would be great, as it'll mean the moderators have a way of checking who is whom. After the month, you'll need to have your details in the database to be a member of CluckCluck. Attention all members!
As part of CluckCluck year 2, I've developed a new strategy for the site's expansion. Andrew and myself are designing a political party, known as Fianna Bui, with him as leader and me as chairman. We're going to running in the next local and European elections, so if you're interested in being a candidate, contact us at cluckcluckmasters@gmail.com.
I was thinking of "Your CluckCluck Needs You!" as a campaign slogan, what do you all think?
One more thing, there's going to be a 2 Euro per month membership fee from now on. The money will be used to pay Jackie Healy-Rae to support our government.
